Get everything you need to help your baby or toddler sleep better — gently, safely, and effectively:
As a Registered Nurse and Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant specializing in infant and toddler sleep, I help families overcome sleep challenges and build healthy sleep habits that last a lifetime. My goal is to guide babies and young children toward independent sleep while giving parents confidence that their child is getting the restorative sleep they need to grow and thrive.
I believe every child deserves a sleep plan that is as unique as they are. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach or using the same method across every age, I create developmentally appropriate sleep plans that reflect your child's stage of development, temperament, sleep challenges, and your family's parenting style.
Using my signature Baby Needs Sleep™ methods, I take the time to understand your family's unique dynamics before creating a personalized plan designed specifically for your child. As children grow and develop, their sleep needs change, and I believe their sleep training should change too. Every recommendation is thoughtfully chosen to support healthy, independent sleep while providing the level of responsiveness and reassurance that feels right for your family.
"At Baby Needs Sleep, my mission is simple: to help families and their little ones get the restful nights they deserve."
I begin formal sleep training at approximately 4 months of age, provided your baby is developmentally ready, growing well, and your pediatrician has not recommended ongoing overnight feedings for medical or growth reasons.
Sleep training is a process that involves teaching your child healthy sleep habits and routines, fostering independent sleep.
Newborns can’t sleep train because their circadian rhythms aren’t fully developed. They need frequent feedings and are unable to self-soothe. However, I've got you covered with a New Mommy Survival Guide for those early days! https://websites.godaddy.com/sleep-packages/olsPage=all
On average, babies are fully sleep trained in about two weeks, though the timeline can vary depending on parent consistency and dedication. Following a consistent approach is key to success.
Sleep training can typically begin around 4 months and works well up to about 4 years old. The approach is tailored to your child’s age, developmental stage, and individual needs.
It’s ideal to start when you can commit to two consecutive weeks without travel, major schedule changes, or visitors. Your child should be healthy and not sick, and if they can stay at home in a familiar environment. This consistency gives the best chance for successful sleep training.
No—when done with compassion and consistency, sleep training does not harm your baby emotionally. In fact, it helps them learn healthy sleep habits, which support their overall well-being. Responding to their needs during the day and maintaining a loving, predictable environment ensures they feel secure and cared for throughout the process.
The amount of crying varies depending on your baby’s age, temperament, and the method used. Some babies settle quickly, while others may take a few nights to adjust. Consistency, patience, and a calm approach help minimize stress and teach your baby to self-soothe effectively.
